What is a Docuwebisode?

DOCumentary + WEB + epISODE
= Gonzo journalism 2.0

It's talent, relatively cheap equipment, an idea, and a dedication to jumping in. The media landscape is evolving, and the idea of "making it big" is now dependent on factors the industry itself does not fully understand. The concept of film documentation is now in the hands of anyone with a web cam, and an interesting enough idea to "go viral."

Using the newest tools of the trade and incorporating the very means of expression and distribution that we are researching, we at Docuwebisode.com are inviting new formats, and embracing a crowdsourcing mentality. We are proud to present "Where are you Online?" as a first project that outlines the movement we spring from.

Not for Profit Status

To keep in line with our beliefs of content quality before profit, community inclusion before personal gain, and organization in the face of chaos, Docuwebisode.com is in the process of obtaining not for profit status under an umbrella 501 c3 media company Dandelion Experiments Inc.

Projects

Debut Project: Where Are You Online?

“Where are you Online” is a Docuwebisode project exploring the shift from entertainment to intertainment. People creating content spend most of their lives trying to find loopholes and secret entry ways into an industry that prides itself on being closed. We have a unique opportunity to document a shift in media, technology, entertainment, and our whole society’s view on “Who can be an artist?” We are enthralled with the idea that the gates have opened, and we are here to see what happens during and after the flood.
